An unusual thing happened today – the train I booked ahead of time, from Montpellier to Narbonne, wasn’t cancelled and arrived almost on time. This the first time in six rail trips that my plans haven’t been altered by the strikes.
Anyway enough of the grumbling, I have two more weeks of this, today’s tip is to visit the city of Narbonne with its historic centre, archaeological museum with more Roman paintings than anywhere else in France, and the Canal de la Robine. The weather was around 28 degrees Centigrade and as for the past five days, there was no hint of rain.
If there’s a choice of either Montpellier or Narbonne for a one-day visit, choose Narbonne.
