It appears the train strikes in France are every day now and nothing is being done to avert the disruption from affecting Euro 2016.
My TGV train from Carcassonne to Toulouse did run on time on June 8th, so I was pleased about that. Having looked around Toulouse, my tip of the day would be to visit Les Jacobins church. Most tourists justifiably go to St-Sernin church, but Les Jacobins is much more atmospheric. The interior is very airy – seven large columns support the black and red ribbed vaulting that stretches across the ceiling. This church was the first headquarters of the Dominican Order, who were founded in 1215 to combat the Cathar heresy.
