Book Review : Sword in the Stone

This is the first of the five books of the Once and Future King and I’ve decided to review each of the five rather than one review for the whole book.

This book is not what I was expecting having read Le Morte d’Arthur. Overall, I was disappointed in the modern references to typewriters and Eton College (amongst others), references that take you out of the time the story is supposed to be set in.

I can see that the story is building towards what I was expecting from the beginning. Merlyn was in this first book as was Sir Ector with Arthur being ‘revealed’ at the end.
