In October 2025, I visited Majorca for the first time. This is the first of the Balearic Islands I have been to and I was genuinely impressed.

As someone who likes to travel by public transport whenever possible, I appreciated how all the transport options for visiting the rest of the island were in one place, that’s the trains, the buses, and the metro system. The metro service in Majorca is operated by Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca. The hub is located in the Plaza de Espana close to the terminus for the tourist train to Soller. From the Intermodal Station, the metro operates on two lines across the greater Palma area, but there are no stations in the Old Town. Also at the Intermodal Station are the train station and the bus station for coaches going to places like Polenca.

If you come out of the Intermodal Station and face towards the Old Town, the bus stop you will see on the other side of the wide street is the one where you can catch the bus to the airport.
