This is one of the most famous books written in the English language. It’s Emily Bronte’s only novel. It’s Yorkshire Moors, Catherine, Heathcliff, Edgar Linton, suspense, betrayal, revenge, love, and frustration. It’s operatic in its intensity.
In the version of the book I read, there’s a family tree showing the relationship between the major characters and reading this I noted only two of the characters (other than the narrators) survive to the end of the book.
There are two main narrators, Mr Lockwood and Nelly Dean, and the ending of the book involves one of these narrators telling the other about the passing away of one of the characters. This is such a wonderful way of describing this situation.
