Linate airport station is at the end of the M4 line in Milan. Malpensa is around 40 minutes away from the central station on an overland train, but there is a Malpensa Express that might be quicker. When I caught the train from Malpensa I jumped on the first train heading to the Central Station, but I should tell you research is required as not all trains go to central. There are many other stations in central Milan. When waiting for your baggage to arrive, you can buy tickets from a rail official. I know some claim that Bergamo airport is also a Milan airport by the same logic that Luton, Southend, and Stansted are ‘London’ airports. Bergamo is Italy’s third-busiest international hub and is the primary base for low-cost carriers like Ryanair and AeroItalia. It is about 50 kilometres northeast of Milan.
