Autumn Travel – Day 18 – To Zurich from Basle.

An even quicker trip on the train, with the direct journey taking fifty minutes. The main station in Zurich is open on three sides so if your train arrives on one of the outer platforms, travellers can disembark and walk straight into the city, there are no ticket barriers.

If you have a map, make sure you fully understand where you are at the station. If you see Museumstrasse, that’s the opposite side to the Old Town, where most hotels are found.

A recommendation for food, especially for vegetarians, is Hiltl where people obtain plates and find their choices at the buffet and take as much as they want. They then go to the bar where they weigh their plate of food and pay as well as order drinks.
