Autumn Travel – Day 19 – Zurich.

Zurich West is part of the city that not many visitors go to. Head along Langstrasse that goes under the railway lines and find a more real world away from the tourist spots and then return towards the Old Town along Limmatstrasse with its regular trams and few cars.

Today was a Monday, so the museums were closed, however the Fraumunster was open and so the Chagall Windows and Giacometti Window could still be visited. The five Chagall windows are named in order from North to South ‘Prophets’, ‘Jacob’, ‘Christ’, ‘Zion’, and ‘Law’. The artist was eighty when commissioned to produce these beautiful pieces of modern stained-glass artwork.
