I visited the newly refurbished Jewry Wall museum in Leicester and can recommend this place if you’re at all interested in the Romans and their achievements.
A number of large mosaics were found in the 18th and 19th centuries in Leicester in the basements of houses and shops. The owners would charge visitors a nominal sum to admire these 1800-year old items. Eventually, the mosaics, including the Neptune and Peacock mosaics, were moved to the museum for safer-keeping.
