A slower, stopping train heading along the southern shore of The Bodensee / Lake Constance arrived on time. There’s rather a lot to see around here, so I put my bag in my room and headed back to the station to catch another train to Neuhausen Rheinfall, a journey of around six minutes. There I caught two separate lifts down to the River Rhine to admire the falls.
These falls aren’t a single fall of water, more a cataract where the water plunges over several rock steps for around twenty three metres in total. I could hear the falls from the station and I was pleased that I’d brought a telephoto lens with me so I could zoom in on the boats trying to get close to the falling water.
Once back in Schaffhausen, I could admire another old town with amazing murals, oriel windows, and half-timbered buildings. There’s a minster and a fortress called Munot. I’ll have more time to explore tomorrow when I return from Stein-am-Rhein.
