Travel Writing and Book Reviews

There is far more to this city than I first thought. There are canals, city walls, and many churches in the old town, in fact there’s almost one church per 3-4 blocks. I’m glad I have my notebook with me, so that I can write down which photographs are of which church, otherwise I’d be lost when I come to look at them later.

There’s a lot of nice shops too including both men’s and women’s outfitters, knickknack places and antiques stores. The glass looks particularly fine and I doubt I’d get the items home in one piece, as my suitcases are almost full.

I don’t normally go shopping on holiday but when the clothes shops are selling such fine and stylish pieces, it’s difficult not to be tempted into a few purchases. These stores are either local or part of smaller tailor chains where you’re not paying for the brand name, as you would be in Milan.
